ARTISTA
ESPAÑOLDamian King
Massachusetts-based urban artist, known first as Dinkylon, then as part of the duo Vinny y Dinky, and today active under his current name, Damian King.
CREATIVE IDENTITY
I. Identity
Damian King is an urban artist based in Massachusetts. Before adopting his current name, he was known as Dinkylon — or Dinkylon El Vacilon — the name under which he built much of his early musical career, including his stretch as part of the duo Vinny y Dinky. Dinkylon and Damian King are the same person, in one continuous career, not two separate identities.
II. Massachusetts / Origins
Per his own artist biography, Damian King was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and had a bicoastal upbringing in a military household — an early exposure to different musical genres that, per that same biography, shaped his style of expression.
His presence in the Boston scene is independently documented: a photograph from the duo era shows him alongside Brujo y D Voiz, Apoka, Pinchito, and Grizzly at a city club, and a 2019 NAZA 51 profile documents him as "Damian King (ex-Dinkylon)."
Outside of music, that same NAZA 51 profile documents him as the owner of Top Of The Line Barbershop in Boston. A later photograph shows him speaking with Boston Mayor Michelle Wu outside the barbershop's storefront — the exact context of that meeting isn't documented beyond the image itself.
III. Dinkylon
Under the name Dinkylon — also credited as Dinkylon El Vacilon — he built his first era as an artist. "Gal No Pares" is documented as his first wide-reaching single, officially distributed through CD Baby, with early video material documented on his own YouTube channel.
He's also credited with an album, "Better Than Ever," though an unresolved discrepancy persists over its exact year: promotional material from the time describes it as a mixtape "for summer 2012," while public music databases list it as a 2013 release. The archive preserves both dates without adopting one over the other; no tracklist, label, or cover art has been verified.
Under this same identity he appears, with no printed date, in the documentary "Abuelito — I'm Back" (directed by Dante Luna and Big Byrd The Boss, sponsored by Melodia Records and PSwetheBEST.com), alongside Brujo and Nan2, among others.
2000–2015
IV. Vinny Y Dinky
Before his solo career, Dinky formed the duo Vinny y Dinky alongside Vinny — today documented in ERA617 as Vinny Rivera. The connection is independently verified: the "Vinny Rivera" credit on Damian King's 2021 single "Tu Estas Caliente" links to the same Spotify artist ID already on file for Vinny Rivera's existing ERA617 profile, and the duo's album was released under the same label, EQS Música.
The duo's documented catalog includes "Y por Eso" (2000, La Industria / J&N Records) and "Los Más Duro del Area" (2015, 21 songs, EQS Música / Long Live Music Group) — two releases separated by 15 years, with no documented joint activity in between.
2016–2021
V. Damian King
Over time, Dinky adopted the name Damian King, under which he remains active today. His earliest documented single under this name, "Un Beso," dates to 2016 — just a year after "Los Más Duro del Area." His catalog later expanded with "Increíble" (2018), a run of singles in 2019 ("Fuete Fuete," "La Amistad," "My Queen"), the album "Tu Rey Bebe," and several more singles in 2020 ("Suelta Cintura," "Beneficios," "Aquella Noche," the EP "La Coronación"), through "Tu Estas Caliente" (2021, alongside Cashimiro, Pimpchito, and Vinny Rivera).
