DÉRE

Dére is his public artist name; his real name, Derek Atocha, appears in his own Spotify bio. Born and raised in Massachusetts, he graduated in 2013 with a degree in Business Marketing from UMass Amherst.

In 2015 he formed a duo with his cousin, called MelodiClave, releasing three records and ten songs over five years. He continued his career as a solo artist starting in January 2021, under the name Dére.

Dére's collaboration with Kam Yadier is documented from the MelodiClave era: "Trampa" and "Genesis Freestyle" (both produced by Kam Yadier) appear on the duo's own channel. As a solo artist, "Big Metra" (2022), "DRACO" (2022), and "ESMERALDA" (2023) — all produced by Kam Yadier — are documented on the Agresivo Recordz channel.

"Se Descontrola" (MelodiClave, feat. Xaviel, Vinny Rivera, and Lito El Sikario, produced by Kam Yadier and Jorge Milliano) brings Dére together with Vinny Rivera and Jorgie Milliano on one song.

On his episode of "Conversation With Brujo" (November 8, 2022), Dére described himself as co-owner of Agresivo Recordz — the most direct source found on his relationship with the label. His own Instagram bio also describes him as "Writer/Artist, Agresivo Recordz, LLC," consistent with that description. The Kam Yadier production credits documented above are a separate career data point, not evidence of ownership by themselves.

Per his own Spotify bio, Dére took part in the Billboard Latin Week Miami events in October 2024, where he presented his song "Mobb Deep" — a self-reported fact, not independently confirmed.
