DOCUMENTED HISTORY

2014

I. Roxbury State of Mind — A Brand Born in 2014

The name Grimey Gurt is inseparable from a business: "Grimey Gurt R.S.O.M. — Roxbury State of Mind," a Roxbury, Boston music-and-apparel operation that, per its own Yelp business listing, was founded in 2014. The brand and the artist are the same project viewed from two angles, not a label signing a separate act.

That identity holds up across platforms — Instagram (@iamgrimeygurt), X/Twitter (@grimeygurtibf, displaying as "Gurty"), and YouTube (@iamgrimeygurt) are all cross-linked from his own Linktree (linktr.ee/grimeythegreatest), the strongest first-party evidence that these accounts belong to one operation. Deezer's songwriter credits consistently name "Curtis (Jamol) White" (also rendered "Curtis J White") across his catalog — a possible legal name inferred strictly from authorship metadata, never confirmed in an interview or official bio, and presented here with that caveat intact.

2018

II. 2017–2018 — Early Singles and an Early Connection

The oldest uploads on his YouTube channel (@iamgrimeygurt) date to roughly 2017. 2018 brings his first documented run of Apple Music singles — "Look at Me Now" (Remix), "Walk" (feat. Sincere Boston) [Remix], "On the Run," "How 2 Rob," "Codman Park," and "Grimey Iverson" (Remix), plus "Glock 9" (feat. Omnipotent) at year's end — part of that stretch credited to "Gray Code Ent/IBF Music Group."

That same year, the collaboration "Boston Strong," with Dun Dealy, surfaces on Spotify — one of his earliest documented connections. TheMUSEUM TV also published a video interview, "Roxbury State of Mind, Grime Gurt," describing him actively promoting the brand and referencing a future project, "Roxbury State of Mind 1.5" (later listed on the mixtape aggregator Off The Ave). Neither an exact date for that interview nor a transcript was recoverable in this research pass.

2019–2023

III. 2019–2023 — Scattered Singles, First Steps Under His Own Label

"Now" and "Use to Wanna Ball" (April 3, 2019) and "Money & Family" (feat. Sixx & Fuse, March 5, 2021, credited to GT Digital/Gray Code Entertainment) keep a steady drip of standalone singles going. On March 15, 2023, "Grimey the Greatest" arrives — a two-track single/EP and the first release credited to his own label, GRIMEY RECORDS, though a separate Deezer field for the same release reads "4070266 Records DK," a metadata inconsistency this research did not resolve.

2024

IV. It's Time — the Most Substantial Release in His Catalog

On February 7, 2024, Grimey Gurt releases It's Time, a thirteen-track album under GRIMEY RECORDS — his most substantial and best-documented release. The record draws on a wide circle of Boston collaborators: King Brickz appears on "Make It Home" and on "C.O.W." (alongside Stizzy LeftLane and Hoodie); Y Gizzle appears as the sole guest on "Moving Tactical" — the only documented collaboration between the two to date; Cake Swagg appears on "Iceman"; Kayla Fendi on "Rush"; Last Days on "Call On"; and an artist credited simply as "AK" closes out the guest list on "Cat Walk" — very likely the same AK Ctcg who would co-headline a full album with him two years later, though that specific continuity wasn't fully disambiguated in this research.

The Boston music blog Morton Digital covered the album in a piece titled "It's Time — A Testament to Timeless Talent" — confirmed to exist through the site's own cross-linking, though its actual text couldn't be independently verified in this pass, so no editorial claim from that piece is quoted here. Weeks later, the single "Head Up" (feat. HappyBirthdayCalvin, April 20, 2024) is credited to "Maxo Pardo LLC" — a one-off label departure from his usual GRIMEY RECORDS credit, for reasons not documented.

2025

V. 2025 — Two Singles, One Day

On August 13, 2025, Grimey Gurt releases two singles the same day under GRIMEY RECORDS: "396" and "Waiting My Time" (feat. GBGFlee).

2026

VI. They Was Never Supposed To Hear This — the AK Ctcg Partnership

Around July 2026 (exact date not recovered), his YouTube channel uploads "Sixth Sense" (ft. AK) as an advance preview. On October 1, 2026, They Was Never Supposed To Hear This arrives — a twelve-track collaborative album with AK Ctcg. This isn't a feature dressed up as a duo: Apple Music's own artistName metadata field for the release reads "AK Ctcg & Grimey Gurt," a genuine co-billing confirmed by the platform's own structured data, and Spotify independently corroborates the same joint credit — "AK Ctcg, Grimey Gurt" — at the track level on songs including "I Took A Risk" and "3am In Boston." The release's label line, WealthTheLabel/GrimeyRecords, credits both artists jointly.

As of this research date (October 19, 2026), this is Grimey Gurt's most recent documented release.
