KAZE401

A rapper born in Providence, Rhode Island, who built his entire recording career in Medellín, Colombia's hip hop scene after moving there at fourteen — from his 2015 album Gordonea to his most recent ABNATION single, TÓXICOS (2026).

DOCUMENTED HISTORY

1992–2005

I. Providence, Rhode Island — and the Move to Medellín

Kaze401 — who identifies himself as Roger Gil in both his SoundCloud bio and his official Spotify bio — was born in 1992 in Rhode Island. By his own account, given in a 2015 interview, he didn't know Latin hip hop at all growing up in the United States; that came later, when around 2005, at about fourteen, he moved to Medellín, Colombia.

In Medellín he joined the "Skuelas," community hip hop schools active across the city's comunas, and that's where he began forming as a rapper. He has built essentially his entire documented career inside Colombia's hip hop scene ever since — his own official Spotify bio sums it up this way: "a Medellín rapper with roots in Providence, RI," naming Medellín as his base and Providence as his origin, never the other way around.

“I was born in [19]92 in the smallest state in the United States, Rhode Island.”

— KAZE401, INTERVIEW WITH DAQA HIP HOP, 2015

2009

II. The Skuelas, Los Reales, and the First Mixtape (2009)

Kaze401's earliest documented release is a 2009 mixtape with a group called "Los Reales" — no copy, tracklist, or streaming link for that mixtape was located, but two independent sources (the 2015 DAQA Hip Hop interview and a later mdesigner.co write-up) agree on that year as the start of his public activity. His YouTube channel, separately, was created on July 26, 2009 — the same year, though not necessarily the same event.

That timeline leaves one unresolved gap: his own Spotify bio describes "almost 20 years" of making hip hop, which — counted toward 2025 or 2026 — would suggest a start around 2006 or 2007, two years before this first documented mixtape. Both facts are presented here as they stand, without forcing a reconciliation. From this same period comes his personal motto, repeated across interviews: "INTENTO VIVIR, No SOBREVIVIR" ("I try to live, not survive").

2014–2015

III. "UNA," "Joven y Loco," and Gordonea (2014–2015)

In 2014 he releases "UNA" alongside Pipe Bega — today the most-viewed video on his own YouTube channel, at 489,000 views. A year later, in 2015, "Joven y Loco" follows, featuring Golpe a Golpe, documented both by an mdesigner.co write-up and by the video's own upload-date tag on his channel.

On December 11, 2015, he releases Gordonea, his first album, alongside Esco Soundz — the same name, "Gordonea," he has used ever since as a personal alias, independent of the record. Apple Music credits the album with a 2017 copyright line, two years after its own release date — a discrepancy documented as-is, never reconciled.

2018

IV. Los Gordos, with Ac Black (2018)

On January 22, 2018, he releases Los Gordos, an eight-track album with Ac Black — the first collaborator with whom he would build a recurring working relationship over the following years. It's a self-released project: Apple Music credits it directly to "Kaze401," with no outside label. The track "Chimba de Parche (El Weed)" adds Gelo as a guest.

2022–2023

V. FRESCO and "Neas Paradise" (2022–2023)

On October 14, 2022, he releases FRESCO, with Jlla Rabbit, under the label Monopolio Media. Around the same period, "ESO ES TODO," an EP, also circulates — its existence confirmed by a releases shelf on his own YouTube channel ("Ay Dios Mío," "BellaK," "NeaLUV," "PARCE," "JOSEO"), though without an exact date or verified cover art.

On June 2, 2023, he appears as a guest on "Neas Paradise (Remix)," by Jayb Prodigy, Kiño, and Ultrajala, alongside Edi Manrique El Tito, Alias Ramirez, JR Ruiz, and El Piti — all of them, like Kaze401, part of the Colombian hip hop scene, never the Massachusetts scene. It is, to date, his most-viewed appearance on any project, his own or someone else's: 821,000 views.

2024–2026

VI. ABNATION and the Present (2024–2026)

Starting in late 2024, his catalog moves to the label ABNATION: "Fácil Olvidar" (November 26, 2024, with FL), "GARXON" (January 30, 2025, solo), "DOS REINAS" (April 30, 2025, with Ac Black), "QNQ" (August 28, 2025, with Jeip), and "CLOSE FRIENDS" (October 29, 2025, solo).

"COSAS RARAS" follows on February 14, 2026, with Ac Black and Edi Manrique El Tito, and "TÓXICOS" on May 31, 2026, solo — a title it shares with other, unrelated songs by other artists, including one already documented elsewhere in this archive (Castleurbano/ONIX); Kaze401's version is a different song by a different artist, released on a different date. "Si No Estás," with Liryc Dealer, arrives August 17, 2026.

In October 2026, he launches "Producto Del Ghetto," his own podcast on the history of Colombian hip hop, powered by ABNATION — its first episode, with Pipe Bega as a guest, is his most recent documented activity. His Spotify bio adds that he is today also behind "En La Juega," a platform dedicated to Colombian hip hop whose exact nature couldn't be independently confirmed beyond that same bio.
