BIOGRAPHY

I. Identity

Moufy is the stage name of a rapper raised in Roxbury, Boston. Per The Harvard Crimson (2011), he attended the private Buckingham Browne & Nichols school in Cambridge while living with his mother, and later briefly attended a school in New Hampshire before returning to Boston. He began rapping at 18.

A federal trademark application for "MOUFY" filed with the USPTO (serial number 88588153) identifies the applicant as Jeffrey Fortunato and claims a first use of the name in commerce on December 11, 2010 — a fact from the filing itself, not necessarily the literal start of his music career. The application was abandoned in 2020 for lack of response and was never registered.

II. Rise In Boston (2011)

In 2011 he opened shows for Mac Miller and J. Cole, and performed at the Boston Urban Music Festival and a sold-out show at the Middle East. That same year he collaborated with baseball player David Ortiz on "Boston," sponsored by Popchips.

He released Boston Lights on December 19, 2011, credited to Woodsum Music Group. That year, Moufy won New Artist of the Year at the Boston Music Awards — verified directly against the official bostonmusicawards.com archive.

III. Star Gang

Moufy founded Star Gang, a collective and movement he described directly to The Harvard Crimson in 2011.

“Ordinary people from any background who aspire to be stars.”

— THE HARVARD CRIMSON, 2011

IV. Star Gang Records Era (2013–2014)

He released Humble Season on March 6, 2013, credited to Star Gang Records. In 2014 he released New England Knight (April 9, also Star Gang Records) — the exact relationship between Star Gang Records and Woodsum Music Group isn't documented.

V. Recent Activity

After a period with no documented press coverage, Moufy resumed his music activity independently in 2024, with his own releases and the EP Before It's Too Late, which includes "Cut The Check," with NBA player Tyler Herro — his most recent confirmed video, on his own channel.
