BIOGRAPHY

I. Identity

Twice Thou is the artist name of Marco Antonio Ennis, a rapper from Dorchester, Boston. A federal trademark application for "ANTONIO ANSALDI" filed with the USPTO (serial number 75338280, filed in 1997) identifies the joint applicants as Roseanna Ansaldi and Marco Antonio Ennis — the filing itself clarifies that "'ANTONIO' and 'ANSALDI' identify living persons whose consent is of record." His own copyright credit on Kill Box (2025) confirms it: "℗ 2025 M. Antonio Ennis."

Antonio Ansaldi is the name of the clothing brand he co-founded with his business partner Roseanna Ansaldi — not his own legal name.

1982–1996

II. Dorchester And The Almighty RSO

Under the stage name E-Devious, he was part of The Almighty RSO, a Boston hip hop group active since 1982, alongside Ray Dogg (later Benzino), Tony Rhome, Rock (Rodney Pitts), and DJ Deff Jeff. The group won the Boston Music Award for Best Rap Group in 1987 and signed with Tommy Boy Records in 1990; the single "One in tha Chamba" generated controversy with the Boston Police Patrolmen's Association. In 1994 they released the EP Revenge of da Badd Boyz (RCA), and in 1996 the album Doomsday: Forever RSO (Noo Trybe/Rap-A-Lot).

2000

III. From E-Devious To Twice Thou: Made Men

In 2000, as the group gave way to Made Men (Benzino, Twice Thou, and Cool Gsus, album Classic Limited Edition, 1998), Ennis retired the name E-Devious for Twice Thou — in his own words to the Jamaica Plain Gazette, "Twice Thou" is a shorthand for the year 2000.

Both eras remain deliberately present in his current work: the video "Crossfire_E-Devious & Twice Thou," posted on his official channel on January 15, 2017, presents him narrating "the official memoirs of Bloody Bean" through his two identities — E-Devious and Twice Thou — in a single conceptual piece, with no second artist credited anywhere in its full credits (filmed by Jaestar Filmz, directed by Team 1, produced by Motif Alumni & Kas, scratches by DJ Moe Dee).

2015–2025

IV. Solo Career

As Twice Thou he has released, among others, Trials & Tribulationships (2015), Loose Screws: Las Aventuras de Tonito Montana (2018), and Kill Box (2025) — his most recent confirmed release, 25 songs, distributed via CD Baby.

V. 4Peace

He was part of 4Peace alongside Edo G, DQuest, and Wyatt Jackson. The collective released "Start Peace," a video/song created in response to youth gun violence in Boston. The same four-member lineup is independently corroborated on Astronote's "We Don't Change" (feat. 4 Peace), confirmed across two separate YouTube channels.

2009–2025

VI. City Life / Vida Urbana And The Bank Attack

In 2009 he learned, from a neighbor who'd read it in the newspaper, that his triple-decker in Dorchester was in foreclosure. He turned to City Life/Vida Urbana, where he learned to resist eviction by staying in his home, with legal counsel from the Harvard Legal Aid Bureau and Greater Boston Legal Services. He began working for the organization, and from that experience recorded the album The Bank Attack, released in October 2012 — proceeds split between City Life/Vida Urbana and his own label, The BuyBack Initiative/Music Group. RapReviews rated the album 7/10.

His connection to City Life/Vida Urbana remains active: his official YouTube channel documents multiple community-organizing activities dated 2025, identifying him as "Dorchester Community Organizer for City Life/Vida Urbana." His single "Rent Control" (feat. Madame Cruz, 2024) carries the credit "℗ 2024 City Life Vida Urbana."

BEYOND THE MUSIC

Antonio Ansaldi

Marco Antonio Ennis co-founded Antonio Ansaldi Clothing Company with his business partner Roseanna Ansaldi — the clothing brand carries both of their names combined, not Ennis's own surname alone.

The brand became nationally known for its controversial "Stop Snitchin'" T-shirt, which generated community and political controversy in Boston. In December 2005, after meeting with Mayor Thomas Menino and community leaders, Ennis agreed to stop selling the garment.

He himself describes other pieces from the brand, such as the "Raid Vest," as part of his design work — these descriptions are presented as his own, not as independently verified facts.
