ALEC FLYNN

Alec Flynn grew up in the Boston area. In a 2025 Variety interview he talked about the same five people he has known “since I was a kid in Boston,” and Boston outlet Vanyaland introduced him in 2024 as a Bridgewater native.

According to Variety, he started doing stand-up in college as a way to cope with depression, and honed his material in front of audiences in New Hampshire.

His bios describe him as an East Coast transplant who reached Los Angeles by way of Denver. There he played Comedy Works, the well-known Denver comedy club: his channel holds a full set recorded on December 1, 2021, and another from a night he opened for Sam Tallent.

That period also shaped his first podcast, “Transplants” (2021–2023), about life as a twenty-something who moves to a new city. He was part of Denver's High Plains Comedy Festival and, per his bios, Rhode Island's Rogue Island Comedy Festival.

In May 2023, Don't Tell Comedy released his first set for the label, “Alpha Male Content is Insane.” By October 26, 2026, it had passed 4.4 million views, and a short clip from the same set, “Alpha Male BS,” had passed 3.1 million.

That fall, according to his bios, he was among the 2023 New York Comedy Festival's “Comics to Watch.” In May 2024 he performed in “Introducing…,” the Netflix Is A Joke festival's showcase of new comics, hosted by Ralph Barbosa at the Vermont Hollywood. It was a festival set, not a Netflix special.

On November 2, 2024, Flynn opened the 28th Comics Come Home at Boston's TD Garden — the long-running benefit hosted by Denis Leary for the Cam Neely Foundation. He shared the bill with Bill Burr, Ronny Chieng, Lenny Clarke, Zarna Garg, Lil Rel Howery, Robert Kelly and Sam Morril.

In its review, Vanyaland wrote that the honor of kicking off the night had gone to Flynn, whom it introduced as a Bridgewater native.

On July 18, 2024, he launched “Big Al's Grill ASMR,” a video podcast where he talks with friends and fellow comics over a live grill, with guests such as Noel Miller, Robby Hoffman and Steph Tolev. In February 2026 the show became “Bad Ideas with Alec Flynn,” a video-essay format that opened with “Why John Cena Should Be President.”

On August 7, 2025, he hosted Variety's Power of Young Hollywood event. He has taken his stand-up to clubs such as Zanies in Chicago, The Music Hall in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and Sports Drink in New Orleans, and in March 2026 Don't Tell Comedy released his second set, “Raising My Gen Z Roommate.”

In May 2026 he said on his channel that he had filmed an hour of comedy, not yet released. On December 18, 2026, he is billed at Goofs Comedy Club in Somerville, sharing the bill with Dan Toomey.
