PROFILE

PROFESSIONAL IDENTITY

I. Christopher Dolan, filmmaker from Quincy

Christopher Dolan — credited as “C.W. Dolan” on his directing projects — is a filmmaker born in Boston, raised in Hanover, and based in Quincy, Massachusetts, where he runs his own production company, Beyond the Flock Media.

He studied Communication at Curry College, graduating in 2012, and has continued his training with an Entertainment Business certificate from UCLA and an in-progress Master's in Education — Visual Arts from Framingham State University.

HIS PRODUCTION COMPANY

II. Beyond the Flock Media

Beyond the Flock Media LLC was formally organized in Massachusetts on August 12, 2020, based in Quincy, and was administratively dissolved on August 6, 2023, per the public record of the Massachusetts Secretary of the Commonwealth. The brand still operates today as the trade name under which Dolan produces and distributes his work, though it no longer exists as an active legal entity.

2013–2020

III. Early work

Before “Bloom,” Dolan directed the short “Moving Stone” (2014), nominated for Best New England Film at that year's Massachusetts Independent Film Festival, and “Thorns,” an Official Selection at the Boston International Film Festival. He also directed the local-history documentary series “History Abode,” with episodes on Benjamin Lincoln and the Hingham shipyard (2019) and on Tuttleville (2020).

HIS FEATURE FILM

IV. “Bloom”

“Bloom,” his first feature, was completed and copyright-registered in 2020, with a documented runtime of 80 minutes on its own production record. That same year it was an Official Selection at the Boston International Film Festival (April 18, 2020) and the New York Lift-Off Film Festival.

In 2023, the Massachusetts Independent Film Festival gave Dolan its “Best New England Film” recognition as producer, plus nominations for Direction and for lead performance for his star, Anita Ganesan. Following that recognition, most public listings for the film — including IMDb and Dolan's own site — began citing 2023 as its year. IMDb also lists an 84-minute runtime, a few minutes longer than the 80 minutes on the original production record.

2024–PRESENT

V. Recent work

In recent years, Dolan has worked as a hired editor and colorist on a run of true-crime and thriller TV movies distributed on Lifetime Movie Network, Tubi, Amazon Prime, and Apple TV: “Her Fatal Fling,” “A Killer in the House,” “Squeaky,” and “My Deadly Affair,” all from 2024.
