BIOGRAPHY

I. Origins

José León — known artistically as Brujo Live, and before that simply as Brujo — is a Puerto Rican urban artist, rapper, songwriter, and independent creator born in Boston, Massachusetts.

He spent part of his childhood in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, where he developed an early connection to the underground movement and urban music. Back in Massachusetts, he sharpened his skills as a rapper through battles and local scene spaces, including a period associated with Forest Hills Station.

Before Brujo y D Voiz, Brujo was already writing music alongside C-Lowz. Both shared a strong Karel y Voltio influence — an important reference point in how they first approached reggaetón.

II. Letraz Fina & Brujo y D Voiz

In 2005, Brujo joined musically with his cousin D Voiz, forming Brujo y D Voiz. During that same period, he partnered with his manager Born to develop Letraz Fina Enterprize in Boston.

In the project's early years, Brujo also raised the possibility of bringing C-Lowz on as a solo artist. C-Lowz later found a more compatible artistic home around Rima Records, while Brujo continued building Letraz Fina alongside D Voiz.

Tracks that marked the duo's development include "Bota Humo," "Búscame," "Vivir Sin Ti," "Un Deseo," "Esa Mirada," "Te La Va Quitar," and "Dance With Me."

In 2008, Brujo y D Voiz released Da Mixtape, a 12-track project under Letraz Fina Enterprize that consolidated much of the material developed during that stretch.

Through the Konnexion Lokal mixtape series, Brujo helped create a platform that brought together artists from his hometown, across New England, and collaborators from beyond the region. The series reflected a broader effort to connect scenes, showcase local talent, and build relationships across different circles of Latin urban music.

Under Letraz Fina Enterprize, Brujo presented Konnexion Lokal (2007) and Konnexion Lokal 2 (2008), community compilations of more than 20 tracks each, with credits that include D Voiz, Temperamento, Pimpchito, and Rafito Y Yashua, among many other names from the scene. Years later, in December 2012, the movement continued with Konnexion Lokal 3, presented alongside Noize Mob Entertainment, with participants including Vinny Rivera, Antidote La Receta, Chino El Asesino, and LuizAntoni.

III. Artistic Evolution

When Brujo y D Voiz's first run paused, Brujo began developing his solo career.

In 2009 he released Mala Suerte, his first solo project — a remastered version reached digital platforms on August 17, 2012. Lejos Del Mundo followed in 2011, including "Traje Baño" with D Voiz, keeping a musical thread between the two alive even during his individual chapter.

A new creative chapter followed under the name Mulzielago, forming the duo Mulzielago y Wyziel. That period produced Hacia el Destino (2014), with tracks like "Super Guapa," "Baby Dime," "Fui el Enemigo," and "Labia."

Over time, José León consolidated the Brujo Live identity, bringing his different chapters together under one professional name. His official biography documents performances across New England and other parts of the East Coast, work on multiple music and audiovisual projects, and media appearances including Telemundo and Univisión.

In 2021 he released Otra Entidad. The project includes a new recording of "Sin Mi Princesa," a song that had originally appeared on Lejos Del Mundo and also had a 2018 version with Chino El Asesino under the same title.

IV. Legacy and Today

D Voiz's passing on June 28, 2021, profoundly marked Brujo's path. That same year he wrote "Dime Como Sigo" as a tribute to his cousin and musical partner, and continued preserving the shared history of Brujo y D Voiz through Nuestra Huella, released November 9, 2021.

Brujo has also become a steward of much of the historical archive tied to Brujo y D Voiz, Letraz Fina Enterprize, D Voiz, and other artists and collaborators from that circle — music, photographs, flyers, videos, and documents.

In August 2022, Brujo launched Conversation With Brujo, extending his work into interviews, conversations, and cultural documentation. The project became a new extension of his career, focused on preserving stories, experiences, and voices tied to music, culture, and his surroundings.

While building that archive, Brujo Live never stopped recording. Between 2023 and 2025 he kept a steady pace of independent singles under Letraz Fina Enterprize — "Mariposa" (December 2023), "Perderme" (January 2024), and "Aque No Sabe" (July 2025) — growing his solo catalog in parallel with his work preserving the history he shares with D Voiz.

More than two decades after his first recordings, Brujo Live remains active as an artist, songwriter, creator, and archivist of his own musical history. That same dual path defined the start of 2026: on January 31 he released "Kwasimoto," a new single, and a week later, on February 7, "Maldito Rumor" — written by Brujo Live and produced and mixed by Grizzly (CW Productionz), originally recorded in 2009 and only now formally released — joining a recent release and archival material from his own catalog in the same month.
