BIOGRAPHY

I. Origins — Two Cousins In Boston

Brujo (José León) and D Voiz (Daniel Alicea) are cousins, Puerto Rican artists born in Boston, Massachusetts, with family roots in Bayamón, Carolina, and Barranquitas. Before joining forces, Brujo was already competing as a battle rapper in local scene spaces, including a period associated with Forest Hills Station — that's where D Voiz met him. United by their Puerto Rican heritage and a shared passion for urban music, the cousins found in that scene the starting point for what would become Brujo y D Voiz.

II. The Formation — Brujo y D Voiz And Letraz Fina Enterprize

In 2005, Brujo and D Voiz formally formed their duo in Boston, alongside Born, Joseph Rivers, and the management team that would shape Letraz Fina Enterprize. They broke out with "Bota Humo," their first single, followed by "Búscame" — both released into the Boston scene in 2006, years before their official studio release within the album Nuestra Huella (2021). They also released their first music video, "Yo Sé," filmed in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Other tracks that marked the duo's early years include "Vivir Sin Ti," "Un Deseo," "Esa Mirada," "Te La Va Quitar," and "Dance With Me." From the start, Brujo y D Voiz proudly represented the essence of reggaetón and Puerto Rican identity from Boston.

2007–2008

III. Da Mixtape And Konnexion Lokal

In 2008, Brujo y D Voiz released Da Mixtape, a 12-track project under Letraz Fina Enterprize that consolidated much of the material developed during that stretch. Around the same period, the duo — and Brujo in particular — helped drive the Konnexion Lokal community mixtape series, a platform that brought together artists from Boston, across New England, and collaborators from beyond the region. D Voiz is credited on Konnexion Lokal (2007) and Konnexion Lokal 2 (2008), alongside names like Temperamento, Pimpchito, and Rafito Y Yashua.

IV. Individual Paths

When the duo's first run paused, Brujo and D Voiz took individual artistic paths — Brujo developing what would eventually become his solo career under the name Brujo Live, and D Voiz building his own solo catalog, including the Latin Embassy compilation. Even in that individual chapter, the musical thread between them never fully disappeared: "Traje Baño," from Brujo's solo album Lejos Del Mundo (2011), features D Voiz.

V. The Legacy — Nuestra Huella And Dime Cómo Sigo

On June 28, 2021, D Voiz passed away, leaving an indelible legacy on the scene he helped build. In his honor, Brujo joined directors Joseph Rivers and Dante Luna to create the tribute "Dime Cómo Sigo," produced by AV Spazn — D Voiz's cousin — and Kam Yadier.

That same year, on November 9, 2021, Nuestra Huella, the duo's physical album, was released — available digitally since then, with original physical copies still for sale through this site. Since then, Brujo has become the custodian of much of the historical archive tied to Brujo y D Voiz, Letraz Fina Enterprize, and the circle of artists and collaborators from that era — music, photographs, flyers, videos, and documents — preserving the shared history that began in 2005.
